Synergy Companies' story begins some 30 years ago, in 1981, when an enthusiastic group of people from various backgrounds and from across the country got together and began installing insulation and other energy efficiency services to homeowners in California. This pioneering group of bright-minded and environmentally conscious people would go door to door, working with homeowners, apartment managers, store owners—anybody who could make a difference for our planet and economy—and work with them to become energy efficient and environmentally proactive. Coordinating services one-on-one with customers, they quickly discovered the importance of a simple principle that became the company motto: “We Treat People Right!”

In 1982 they formed Synergy Companies, a full-service energy management company, headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. They soon began working with the major California and Western States utilities (PG&E, SCE, SCG, SDG&E, PacifiCorp, Rocky Mountain Power, and Nevada Energy) to bring energy efficiency and environmental services to the utilities’ end customers, and as a trusted and reliable partner of the utilities, Synergy continues to provide these services today as an Energy Star^® Partner and leader in energy efficiency and environmental services.

From 1982 to the present, this same pioneering group, plus a new generation of visionaries, has continued to work closely with customers to meet their needs, which led them to develop a powerful energy service available to California customers: The Synergy Energy for Life™ Solution. The Energy for Life™ Solution synergistically combines energy efficiency (lighting, HVAC service and duct testing, electronic automation, insulation, and water management) with renewable energy (solar electricity, solar hot water, and solar heating and cooling). Customers are quickly realizing that this service provides the hands-down greatest carbon-footprint reduction, greatest environmental benefit, best energy independence solution (zero net-energy), and best overall financial solution.

Today, Synergy is also able to offer clients the advantage of working through a HUB Zone and WBE Certified subcontractor.
