Gov. Ritter, town of Fowler, in attendance for ribbon cutting, part 3
But the day isn’t over for Jones.
After the festivities, he and Chris Hamilton, solar consultant with Vibrant, made their way over to the Diven Cannery.
Since the news that Fowler was giving Helios 15 acres of land, Jones isn’t sure if the cannery will in fact be the manufacturing facility, although he said there is definitely a use for the building.
Jones has his concerns about the cannery’s size.
Diven’s owner Richard Jensen is still courting the idea of Helios using the building, and he along with his wife take Jones and Hamilton out back to show how much land is available for expanding the facility.
“We’re the gateway into Fowler here,” said Jensen.
In the distance, the two huge arrays Vibrant installed on the town’s golf course are clear as day.
It’s the middle of November, a week before Thanksgiving, and the sun is beating down on Fowler, feeding those solar panels, and the group ends its walk back at the cannery, where Jensen and his wife insist on taking everyone to lunch.
