Northern Power Systems is a fully integrated company that designs, manufactures, sells and services wind turbines into the global marketplace from its headquarters in Vermont with offices in Massachusetts and Michigan, USA, as well as Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Italy. In 1978, North Wind was awarded a U.S. Department of Energy contract to develop a high-reliability 2 kW wind turbine for the growing telecommunications market.
