 Brownsville Public Utilities Board offers residential and small commercial customers rebates for installation of energy efficient and water conservation measures through their Green Living Rebate program. Customers can apply for rebates for attic/ceiling insulation, duct flow performance, ENERGY STAR windows, HVAC, solar screens and films, and high efficiency toilets. Applications must be completed within 30 days of installations and are subject to verification.

Aiken Electric Cooperative Inc - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Aiken Electric Cooperative offers residential members rebates for installing high-efficiency electric water heaters and/or timers in their homes. Customers have four rebate options: 

  1. A member may choose a free, new high-efficiency 50-gallon or 85-gallon electric water heater from AEC without a timer and pay a $200 installation fee. East Central Electric Cooperative - Residential Rebate Program

East Central Electric Cooperative offers rebates to residential customers to install energy-efficient ground source heat pumps, water heaters, programmable thermostats, and air conditioners. To qualify for the rebate customers must submit a rebate survey form, the appropriate appliance rebate form, and a company invoice, with date and proof of purchase price. Local Option - Real Property Tax Exemption for Green Buildings

In July 2012 New York enacted legislation allowing municipal corporations to exempt green buildings from real property taxes. It is important to note that this law allows but does not require local governments to extend favorable property tax treatment to green buildings. In order for the exemption to apply, the taxing jurisdiction must first adopt this exemption.

Jones-Onslow Electric Membership Corporation offers rebates to residential members who install EnergyStar appliances, HVAC equipment and heat pumps, and heat pump water heaters. Eligible EnergyStar appliances include:

Solar Energy System and Cogeneration System Personal Property Tax Credit

The District of Columbia Council created a personal property tax exemption for solar energy systems and cogeneration systems within the District by enacting B19-0749 in December of 2012. Systems using exclusively solar energy as defined in § 34-1431(14)) are exempt from personal property tax; provided, that, notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Chief Financial Officer shall transfer $120,000 from the certified revenues deposited in the Renewable Energy Development Fund established by § 34-1436 to the unrestricted fund balance of the General Fund of the District of Columbia and shall recognize the $120,000 as local funds revenue in fiscal year 2013 and

Members can receive financing for improvements in heating and cooling, insulation, windows and doors, and weatherization items. Florida Keys Electric Cooperative offers residential members rebates for installing energy efficient measures. To qualify for rebates, members must first call FKEC and make an appointment for a free home energy audit. An FKEC trained auditor will assess the home and make recommendations for energy savings.     Columbia Gas of Kentucky offers rebates to residential customers for the purchase and installation of energy efficient appliances and equipment. These programs include:

    • A Low-Income Furnace Replacement Program
    • A Home Energy Checkup Program
    • A Natural Gas Appliance Rebate Program

    Jackson EMC - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

    Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is an electric cooperative that serves 194,000 customers in 10 counties in northeast Georgia.  To encourage its residential customers to adopt energy efficient equipment in their homes, Jackson EMC provides rebates for in-home energy evaluations, electric heat pumps, smart thermostats, and electric vehicle chargers.

    Customers may be eligible for a $200 rebate if they have a home energy evaluation audit performed. This audit also qualifies them for up to $400 in rebates for duct sealing and replacement, as well as for insulation and air sealing.
