Rochester Public Utilities provides incentives for residential and commercial customers to install photovoltaic (PV) systems. Qualifying PV systems can earn a flat $500 rebate . Systems must fully comply with equipment and installation requirements set forth by RPU.
In order to obtain eligibility, customers must agree to a net-metering and interconnection contract with Rochester Public Utilities. An energy audit must also be performed prior to system installation and results shared with RPU. Incentives are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. RPU obtains the right to withdraw the program at any time without notice.

Valley Electric Association (VEA), a nonprofit member owned cooperative, developed the domestic solar water heating program to encourage energy efficiency at the request of the membership. VEA partnered with Great Basin College to train and certify installers, creating jobs in the community, and also with Rheem Manufacturing and a local licensed contractor to install the units. Pathway Lending's Energy Efficiency Loan Program provides Tennessee business and non-profit entities with below-market loans for energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements. All costs related to the efficiency measures may be financed, including assessments, design, equipment, and installation. Any project that reduces utility consumption, across electric, gas, or water, may apply for financing through this program. The loans are designed to allow for energy cost savings derived from each project to provide the repayment of the loan.

San Miguel Power Association (SMPA) offers a variety of rebates to customers for the purchase and installation of energy efficient equipment and appliances. Both residential and commercial customers are eligible to participate in this program. 

Only current San Miguel Power Association members qualify for rebates and rebates can take up to 90 days to be processed. Rebate applications must be submitted within 60 days of the purchase.

The Qualified Energy Project Tax Exemption

This program provides owners (or lessees) of renewable energy projects with an exemption from the public utility tangible personal property tax. A person may apply to the director of development for certification of an energy project as a qualified energy project on or before December 31, 2024, for an energy project using renewable energy resources

For Whom
In order to qualify, the owner or lessee subject to sale leaseback transaction must apply to the Ohio Department of Development on or before December 31, 2024 for renewable energy projects.

Focus on Energy offers in-home energy audits and cash incentives for installing select recommended efficiency measures. Energy consultants inspect home energy systems, help identify the most effective measures for increasing home efficiency, and assist participants in applying for incentives. The audit itself costs $200-$400, reduced to $50 for Tier 2-eligible customers. Consumers Energy residential gas customers are eligible to apply for a variety of rebates on energy efficient equipment. Furnaces, boilers, water heating units, insulation, windows, doors, energy audits and comprehensive improvements are eligible under this program. Customers must install equipment in the Consumers Energy service area and receive gas service from Consumers Energy for the appliance purchased. Consumers Energy may verify sales transactions and that installed energy-saving measures meet all applicable building codes, zoning laws, local, state, and federal requirements. Illinois law prohibits homeowners' associations, common interest community associations and condominium unit owners' associations from preventing homeowners from using or installing solar energy systems. These associations may not deny homeowners permission to install solar energy systems, but they may specify the location of the solar energy system, as long as such specifications do not "impair the effective operation" of the system. In July 2011, the legislature enacted a bill (Public Act 97-0105) which added a provision for wind energy. A homeowner's association or similar entity may restrict wind energy devices altogether.

The Solar Water Heater Rebate Program is offered to residential retail electric customers by the City of Ocala Utility Services. Interested customers must complete an application and receive approval from the Ocala Utility Services before installing equipment. The application can be found on the program website. The system must be installed by a licensed Florida contractor on the customer's premises, which must be located within the Utility service territory.
