City of Atlanta - Sustainable Development Design Standards

In December 2003, the City of Atlanta passed a green building ordinance that applies to city-owned facilities and city-funded projects. This green building ordinance applies to all new construction and renovation projects in which the building has 5,000 square feet of occupied space or the total project cost exceeds $2 million. These projects must incorporate sustainable design principles and must meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating. Departments must submit an annual report to the City's environmental manager to demonstrate compliance with this standard.

New Jersey Natural Gas - SAVEGREEN Residential Rebate Program

Through The SAVEGREEN Project, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) provides rebates for customers installing high-efficieny appliances, insulation, heat pumps, air conditioning and more. Installation qualifies customer for NJNG's free Home Energy Audit. This audit is performed by a BPI certified NJNG auditor. NJNG offers up to $15,000 in 0% APR Financing.

Installation of equipment in new homes, and participants who have received rebates from the NJ Clean Energy Program are not eligible the rebates.

AES OHIO - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Ohio House Bill 6 was enacted into law October 21, 2019. As a result, mandated energy efficiency programs offered by electric utilities in the State of Ohio ended December 31, 2020.

AES Ohio recognizes the value energy efficiency programs bring to home and business customers and is evaluating the potential to continue programs in the future.

Currently AES only offers incentives on Smart Thermostats sold through AES Ohio Marketplace.

Commercial Clean Energy Rebate Program

The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) offers rebates for mid-sized photovoltaic (PV) systems, solar water heating systems (SWH) and Geothermal Heating & Cooling (GHC) installed by businesses, non-profits, and local governments.  Funding is available on first-come, first-serve basis and is subject to change based on funding availability.

Entergy New Orleans - Residential Energy Efficiency Program

Entergy New Orleans has designed an incentive program to help residential customers understand and make energy efficiency improvements in eligible homes. Incentives are geared towards both individual measures and whole home upgrades. Individual equipment incentives include central AC systems, heat pumps, HVAC system tune-ups, and other comprehensive measures. 

The Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program provides ENO residential customers with home energy assessments, recommendations for energy savings and incentives towards the cost of those upgrades. A range of insulation, air sealing, ductwork, solar window screens and radiant barriers are eligible for incentives through this program. Residents may qualify for a $150

PEPCO offers a variety of rebates to residential customers who purchase and install energy efficient products or measures. Appliances must be ENERGY STAR rated and recycled appliances must be in working condition. All HVAC equipment must meet program efficiency requirements to be eligible for rebates. Rebates are available to Delmarva Maryland customers on qualifying purchases at any retail store. Rebate applications must include account number, original sales receipt, and must be received within 60 days of purchase. City of Sunset Valley - Solar Water Heating Rebate Program

The City of Sunset Valley offers rebates to local homeowners who install solar water heating systems on their properties. The local rebate acts as an add-on to the solar water heating rebates that are offered by Austin Energy to its electric customers. The Sunset Valley rebate is set at 30% of the installed system cost, up to a maximum rebate of $2,000 per homeowner, supplementing the Austin Energy Rebate of $1,500 for systems on new homes and $2,000 for systems on existing homes.

Net Metering

In October 2009, the Regulatory Commission of Alaska (RCA) approved net metering regulations. These rules were finalized and approved by the lieutenant governor in January 2010 and became effective January 15, 2010. All electric utilities subject to economic regulation are required to offer net metering. Independent systems with retail sales of less than 5,000,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) are exempt from offering net metering. Utilities that generate 100% of electricity from certain approved renewable energy sources and other sources approved by the RCA that have a low environmental impact are also exempt.

County Wind Ordinance Standards

Assembly Bill 45 of 2009 authorized counties to adopt ordinances to provide for the installation of small wind systems (50 kW or smaller) outside urbanized areas but within the county's jurisdiction. The bill also addressed specific aspects of a typical wind ordinance and established the limiting factors by which a county's wind ordinance can be no more restrictive.
