NOTE: NYPA currently provides clean energy advisory, planning and consulting services to state and local governments. Its services include, but not limited to, energy audits, energy efficiency project design, procurement and construction, management implementation services, and low cost financing. NYPA has limited grant to facilities these projects and currently does not offer any incentive programs.

Indiana Michigan Power - Energy Savings Rebate Program

Indiana Michigan Power's Energy Saver Program provides its customers incentives for upgrading to energy efficient equipment and for properly disposing of old equipment. Reading Municipal Light Department - Residential and Small Commercial Solar Rebate Program

RMLD offers rebates to qualifying customers who install a grid-connected solar system at their home or business that is less than 20 kilowatts (kW) in size. The RMLD will provide administrative support throughout the progression of the project.

Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) offers rebates of $600/kilowatt for solar photovoltaic installations up to a maximum of $12,000 for residential customers under its Residential Renewable Energy Rebate Program.

Pre-approval is required and interested residential customers should contact RMLD at the onset of project interest and implementation.

Renewable Energy Pilot Program

In June 2010, the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) unanimously approved a Renewable Energy Pilot Program to determine whether a renewable portfolio standard (RPS) is suitable for Louisiana. The program was concluded in August of 2013 with the determination that, while utilities, staff, and regulators learned a great deal, a mandatory RPS was not needed in Louisianna. Three major reasons given not to pursue an RPS were 1) that renewable energy generation is more expensive than conventional energy generation, 2) that rising natural gas prices have put renewables at a cost disadvantage, and 3) that federal interest in mandatory RPS

Reading Municipal Light Department - Business Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) offers energy efficiency incentives to eligible commercial and industrial customers. 

Customers who install qualified grid-connected renewable energy systems on their property may be eligible for a rebate of $1,200 per kilowatt (kW), not to exceed 50% of a project’s cost up to $120,000. RMLD preapproval is required.

Additionally,  incentives are available for air-source heat pumps, lighting, lawn equipment, and renewable energy installations.

AEP (Central and SWEPCO) - Coolsaver A/C Tune Up or Replacement

Residential customers are eligible to receive an instant rebate from a participating A/C contractor for installing high performance A/C systems. Incentives are based on the tonnage and efficiency (SEER) of the new system installed. Only system replacements are eligible. The residential incentives are as follows:

NV Energy - Solar Thermal Heating Program

NV Energy is providing an incentive for its residential customers, small commercial, nonprofit, school and other public customers to install solar water heating, solar space heating, and solar pool heating on their homes and facilities.

Customers interested in participating must first reserve their application before commencing with the installation. NV Energy has a limited number of incentives set aside for each customer class for each year, which will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funding for that class has been exhausted. City of Brenham - Net Metering

In September 2010, the City of Brenham passed an ordinance adopting net metering and interconnection procedures. Customer generators up to 10 megawatts (MW) are eligible to participate, although customer generators with systems 20 kilowatts (kW) or less are eligible for a separate rider and expedited interconnection. The utility will install and maintain a meter capable of measuring flow of electricity in both directions. Any net excess generation (NEG) is credited on a monthly basis at the utility's avoided cost rate.
