The primary objective of these programs is to achieve cost-effective reductions in peak demand through residential retrofits. Additional objectives of the programs include:

• encourage private sector delivery of energy efficiency products and services,

• achieve customer energy and cost savings,

• significantly reduce barriers to participation by streamlining program procedures, and

• encourage participation by a wide range of service providers.

Texas Gas Service - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Texas Gas Service (TGS) offers incentives for its residential customers within central Texas to install energy efficient clothes dryers, dryer stubs, water heaters, solar water heaters, and natural gas (NG) furnaces. TGS also offers rebates for Energy Star Homes, provides free equipment for low-income homes, and offers water kits to all customers free of charge. 

In addition to the residential programs offered, TGS offers rebates for new construction projects through their Contractor Rebate Program. This rebate program offers incentives for NG clothes dryers, clothes dryer stub installation, tankless water heaters, solar water heaters and NG furnaces.

Otter Tail Power Company - Commercial & Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Otter Tail Power Company Rebate Program offers rebates to qualifying commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers for the installation of high-efficiency equipment upgrades. See the program web site for applicability and maximum amounts for certain technologies. Under Minnesota's Conservation Improvement Plan (CIP), Minnesota customers are eligible for additional rebates, including:

  • Commercial Refrigeration
  • Commercial Water Heating
  • Thermal Storage
  • Commercial Refrigeration
  • Commercial/Industrial Lighting
  • Motors/ASDs
  • Geothermal and Air-Source Heat Pumps
  • Retrocommissioning

Minnesota Power - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Minnesota Power offers a variety of appliance, lighting, and heating and cooling system rebates to its residential customers to help make homes more energy efficient. Rebates are available for ENERGY STAR clothes washers, refrigerators, CFLs, and lighting fixtures; and energy efficient furnaces and heat pumps (air-source and geothermal). Rebates are only available to residential customers of Minnesota Power and participating utilities. Qualifying appliance(s) must be installed within the service area of a participating utility. Minnesota Power - Power Grant Program

Minnesota Power Grant Program offers grants of up to $50,000 to its commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers who use innovative technologies, improve manufacturing processes, undertake renewable electric energy projects or who need project design assistance. Eligible projects include renewable energy products, new electro-technologies that lower energy costs per unit of production in a manufacturing process, innovative technologies that are new and underutilized in the regional marketplace, and the inclusion of energy-efficient options in the design phase of a project.

The Energy Cooperative - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

The Energy Cooperative offers incentives to residential customers for a variety of energy efficient home equipment. New equipment must be installed in eligible homes and can be purchased from a dealer of choice. Contact the Energy Cooperative and fill out the necessary forms prior to the installation of a new system. Upon inspection by The Energy Cooperative, a rebate check will be sent to the customer. Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program

NOTE: Rebates have been updated for the Fiscal Year 2017.  NJ Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program includes both rebate and loan as incentives. This program is listed twice under State loan Program and State Rebate Program.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJ BPU) offers the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program for residents that want to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. The program is set up to provide incentives that lower the ultimate cost to consumers for the installation of energy efficiency measures identified in a comprehensive home assessment.

Small Building Material Loan

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) offers a Small Building Materials Loan for applicants to complete or renovate property located within a "small community."*

Applicants may borrow up to $100,000 for projects that improve the livability of a home, improve energy efficiency, or expand space. The loan can be applied toward building materials, freight or third party labor costs, and the project should be completed within 180 days of the loan closing. If the owner does not occupy the property, then only duplexes, tri-plexes, and four-plexes are eligible for the loan program. Buildings with more than four units must be financed

Energy Efficiency Interest Rate Reduction Program

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) offers interest rate reductions to home buyers purchasing new and existing homes with 6 Star and 5 Star Plus energy ratings, or making energy improvements to existing homes. All homes constructed after 1992 must meet the AFHC Building Energy Efficiency Standard (BEES). New construction must exceed the minimum BEES requirements. Any property that can be energy rated and is otherwise eligible for AHFC financing may qualify for this program.
