California Energy Design Assistance is available for commercial, public, industrial, agriculture, and high-rise multifamily projects.The program serves new construction and major alternations in Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas®), San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E®), Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E®), and Southern California Edison Company (SCE®) areas

Major alterations must meet the following criteria:   

  • Changes in space function (building or space occupancy type change)   
OR   
  • Substantial changes (≥30%) in design occupancy (square feet per person)   
OR   
  • Increase (≥10%) in conditioned floor area   
OR   
  • Any substantial expansion or addition of process or conditioning load to an existing facility

Renewable Energy Competitive Incentive Program

Wisconsin Focus on Energy offers a competitive grant to support the deployment of large renewable energy projects. The Renewable Energy Competitive Incentive Program (RECIP) provides incentives for cost-effective renewable energy systems installed at eligible Wisconsin organizations through a competitive request for proposals (RFP) process that occurs twice per year. Grant recipients and projects must be located in a participating electric or gas utility's service territory (see here for participating utilities).

A project’s incentive amount is determined based on the estimated first year net energy production (or offset) of the system. Applicants must propose a $/kWh and/or $/Therm amount

Gainesville Regional Utilities - Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) offers an incentive to business customers for upgrading or installing fuel efficient natural gas equipment at eligible facilities. Incentives are available for natural gas heating systems. Rental property owners also qualify for a number of rebates offered through this program that would otherwise apply specifically to residential customers. PG&E - Residential Energy Savings Rebate Programs

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) offers a variety of rebates for residential customers who install energy efficient equipment in eligible homes. Prescriptive rebates are available for smart thermostats and generators/batteries. Further rebates for heating and cooling products are available through the Golden State Rebate Program.

Duke Energy Florida - Home Energy Check Audit and Rebate Program

Upon request, Duke Energy Florida will perform a free home energy inspection. To qualify for one or all of the rebates, measures must be recommended during the inspection. Eligible equipment and measures include heat pumps, duct maintenance, insulation improvements, and window upgrades. There is also an online Home Energy Check survey to facilitate this process. Efficient Use of Energy Act

The Efficient Use of Energy Act of 2005 allows public electric and natural gas utilities to implement cost-effective energy reduction programs. The programs may be funded through a tariff rider for energy efficiency and load management programs. The charges on the consumer cannot exceed the lesser of 3% of the customer’s bill or $75,000 per year per customer. 

A distribution cooperative may recover costs for energy efficiency, conservation, and load management programs and measures through general rates. Distribution cooperatives, in offering and implementing such programs, shall attempt to minimize any cross-subsidies between customer classes.

NV Energy (Southern) - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Note: As of January 2016, programs for pool pump rebates, refrigerator recycling, and LED lighting discounts are unavailable in NV Energy's southern territory. See website for more information.

NV Energy offers rebates for the installation of high efficiency A/C units, air source heat pumps, and home energy management tools for residential customers in southern Nevada. Complete details are located on the program website. 

Customers of NV Energy in Northern Nevada may access in-store rebates on the purchase of certain LED lights at participating stores. See the NV Energy website for more information.

Smart-E loans

The Connecticut Green Bank administers the Smart-E Loan program which offers long-term, low-interest financing to CT homeowners looking to upgrade their home's energy performance. Loans are offered at no money down, fixed rates, and with no prepayment penalties for various energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy systems. Smart-E Loans are offered in partnership with participating community banks and credit unions, and approved contractors. 

To be eligible for the loan, the building must be 1-4 units,  be owner occupied, and the homeowner's primary residence, located in CT.

Liberty Utilities (Electric) - Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Programs

Liberty Utilities offers incentives and technical support to help customers implement energy efficiency upgrades to existing homes or build an ENERGY STAR certified home. Eligible equipment includes clothes washers, room air conditioners, air purifiers, refrigerators, lighting, appliance recycling, and pool pumps. Incentives are also available for replacing old or inefficient HVAC equipment. Some rebates are given at the time of purchase while others require a mail-in application.
